Green By Design

Alright, so a while ago I was just reading this Sunday Inquirer Magazine of May 2012 editon issue. It features sort of interesting columns such as The thrill of playing Airsoft, Turning fruits and veggies into juice, The wonderful nature spots in Davao, etc. By the way, the main feature cover was Genelyn Magsaysay, mother of the late actor Ramgen Revilla if you guys are familiar with them, and also she was featured as the cover story of this issue — “The Incredible Burden of Being Genelyn”. One of the columns of this issue had really caught my attention, it was all about Filipino style of houses and way of living in a clean and green environment. I just love nature where there are lots of trees everywhere, the chirping of birds, and you’re just only breathe in that fresh air. Whenever I imagine those lovely things, it makes me feel so relaxed. Oh I forget to mention, that particular column I was talking about is named Green by Design and so as the title of this post. It focuses on this book called “Beyond the Bahay Kubo: 16 Climate-Conscious Tropical Homes” which contains the design elements inspired by Filipino traditional houses that make these homes sustainable and environment-friendly, such as passive cooling through natural ventilation, natural lightning and the use of indigenous materials. The book was written by architects father-son Bobby and Angelo Mañosa. Many of the homes featured also make uses of green technology, such as solar panels, energy-efficient lightning, and high-tech glass that actually repels solar rays. As a result, despite being high-end luxury living spaces, these houses consume much less energy and water than typical homes in the same price range. Those things really sounded cool to me and how I wish I could have these awesome style of house someday, that “bahay kubo” environtment with a twist of elegant and captivating style of house. So nice! :)
Note: I just quoted some of the phrases mentioned above but the rest are of my own idea of expressing.
Me and my beloved mom :) HAPPY MOTHER’ DAY TO ALL THE MOMS OUT THERE!! ^__^
Real Time Update

I rarely update this account of mine here in Tumblr but for the meantime I just want to blab out some occurences in my life so far. First, my girlfriend just graduated last April 1 with a degree on Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, she got an award called ”Deans List” award and that was very impressive for me ^_^ Her hardworks in school was worth finishing indeed :) After the commencement exercise, we had a lunch on King Bee restaurant together with her family.

Then right after we finished our munching, we had a great bonding time on her place. Her cousins were very cute I could say ^__^ and also funny and makulet! Hahaha :D

During the holy week, me and my family just had quality time in our home and so-called “staycation” Hihi :p We just quell out boredomness by just cooking some dishes such as pansit, kaldereta, sinigang, and broiled chicken. Movie marathon would take place also, talking about some not so very old films. Last week, I just got my certificate in Infinite Possibilities, an IT Language Learning Center and the course is called Finishing Course for Call Center Agents. I had attended the training for about two weeks and completed the 100 hours required by the school, this was a learning experience for me because this could be a great help to me in looking for a job. So for now, I am currently unemployed and looking for a full time job, not necessarily a call center related job. My girlfriend is on her way also of finding one. Hopefully before this summer ends we can find one and be more productive, We badly need it so good luck to us! :)
